Articulation Assessment

Oral Motor/Articulation assessment is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a speech-language pathologist (SLP), usually combined with oral motor and feeding and swallowing assessment, to have a complete understanding of all oral motor functions.

Language Skills Evaluation

An evaluation of Receptive and Expressive language skills assesses and compares an individual’s ability to understand language and to express themselves through age expected verbal and/or written language constructs using standard measures and clinical observations.

Pragmatic Language Assessment

An assessment of pragmatic language determines the degree to which an individual can recognize shared rules for verbal and nonverbal communication, understand the perspective of others, and appropriately express and share experiences, thoughts, and emotions with both peers and adults.

Stuttering/Fluency Assessment

This assessment is performed to make a differential diagnosis as to whether the child’s speech patterns are within the range of normal stuttering or if, in fact, it is an involuntary motor planning concern.

Expressive Language Assessment

The Expressive language evaluation examines aspects of language such as vocabulary usage, grammar structure, sentence complexity, and overall fluency. It is typically conducted through standardized tests, observation, and interaction with the individual to identify strengths and set goals for improving challenges in their expressive language skills.

neuropsychological evaluation

The purpose of a neuropsychological evaluation is to identify and diagnose cognitive and emotional disorders, learning disabilities, and other areas, such as attention or sensory issues, that may be relevant to an individual’s language and communication skill development.  This evaluation is vital when creating a successful treatment plan tailored to the individual child.
